Why you need to heal from childhood trauma and past pain

One thing about schools I wish I could change is the fact that they do not really teach us how to heal from  childhood trauma and life. What are we supposed to do with the pain of our past? How are we supposed to handle our childhood traumas?

Too many of us are walking around depressed and miserable  on the inside without knowing what to do. I am a life coach who specializes in personal development because I believe that; until we deal with what is happening on the inside, we will not be able to appreciate what is happening on the outside.  Childhood Trauma

Let us talk about childhood trauma. Chances are high that you may be struggling with trauma from your childhood as an adult, and it is affecting your relationships, lifestyle, and social interactions with others.

We have all experienced childhood trauma in extreme or mild forms. Childhood trauma is so powerful that it may trigger or produce the following feelings in our adult life:

  • Anger
  • Feeling disconnected to everything and everyone around us
  • Shame
  • Guilt
  • Difficulty controlling emotions
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Insecurity
  • Low self esteem

Have you ever wondered why certain things or people trigger you? Would you want to understand why you get so scared in situations that other people find normal and nonthreatening? Do you find it difficult to love someone and maintain a long lasting relationship? Are you afraid that no one will ever love and accept you the way you are? Do you walk through life feeling inferior to other people? Have you accepted that you will never be successful in life no matter what you do?

All the above questions are some of the ways that childhood trauma and past pain manifest into our lives. Childhood trauma and pain can take the following forms too:

  • Sexual abuse
  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional abuse
  • Exposure to domestic violence
  • Bullying at school or home
  • Natural disaster
  • Witnessing extreme situations like accidents, death of loved ones, or natural disasters

You will never truly enjoy your life if you carry all the pain and trauma from your childhood in your heart. You need to learn how to identify the pain, acknowledge its existence, accept it, and learn how to let it go.

If you want to experience thriving relationships, businesses, career, and social interactions with friends and family, you need to have a closer look at yourself.

My intention is to help you embark on the quest towards deep healing so that you can live the life you deserve.
